HILLSDALE - Paragon Metals Inc., a global manufacturer of precision engineered automotive and other industrial components, announced its expansion in Southern Michigan for its precision machining operation. Paragon has already invested over $20 million and hired approximately 100 employees in the area for its state of the art, precision machining manufacturing plant in Quincy and now plans on similar expansion in the Hillsdale area.
Paragon, a world leader in manufacturing and supply chain management, has been in business for over 20 years servicing the automotive, truck, and general industrial OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers with machined cast and forged components. Paragon is experiencing strong growth globally with a substantial portion in the USA. CEO Michael Smith attributes this growth to the hardworking and ethical work force in Michigan employed at Paragon.
"We are excited to expand our operational foot print in the United States to better serve our customers," stated Michael. "With the continued high unemployment rates in the US it is a pleasure to be an adder of jobs to Michigan," he went on to say.
Paragon will open its second plant in Southern Michigan in Hillsdale by taking over the 134,000 square foot Alsons facility. Paragon plans on investing approximately $20 million and hiring 150 employees over the next 3-5 years stated Tom Nichols, Paragon VP-sales and native to the area.
"This new site will help us effectively respond to the cyclical demand in the automotive industry and strengthen the flexibility of our organization to meet the ever-changing market demands," David Smith, VP-purchasing and logistics added.
The expansion to Hillsdale comes on the heels of recent awards from several top U.S. automotive OEMs and Tier 1 organizations for high volume critical components to be used in upcoming fuel savings engines and transmissions.
State Senator Bruce Caswell noted, "I commend the leadership of Paragon for taking part in the reinvention of Michigan through this new facility in Hillsdale. I hope that we can continue to earn their trust as they expand their operations and create much-needed jobs in our community."
"Its been my pleasure to work with job providers looking to invest in our state," said State Rep. Ken Kurtz, R-Coldwater. "This new expansion of Paragon Metals is another success story adding to Michigans comeback, bringing more jobs to Michigan residents and strength to our economy, particularly as a supplier to the auto industry. Paragon and their team should be very proud, and I will continue to do my best to help job providers like them find success in Branch and Hillsdale Counties."
